Biography

Pilot Officer Dennis Reginald Fair, of Teddington, Middlesex, graduated from Shoreditch College in 1937. On March 25, 1942, at the age of 26, his plane with three other crew members went down on route to Gardening-Lorient airport from RAF Skellingthorpe. It is believed the plane, a Handley Page Hampden Mk1, experienced mechanical failure then was hit by flak. Pilot Officer Fairs body was never recovered. He is remembered at Brest (Kerfautras) Cemetery in France.
