Biography

Acting-Captain John Connel Stevenson attended Borough Road College for two years, playing tennis and acting as the tennis treasurer 1911-12, and is listed as being destined for a school in Dalston. He enlisted into the Middlesex Regiment but was later put into the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment. He was mentioned in dispatches for bravery. Stevenson was killed on the 23 August 1918 aged 27.
