Biography

Flying Officer Navigator John Philip Halestrap entered Borough Road College in 1941, but was called up to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve after five terms. In March of 1945 Flying Officer Navigator Halestrap and his Pilot were attempting to land their plane when according to reports, ‘Lost height on single-engined overshoot and crashed on return from patrol RAF Coltishall’. Both men died.
