Biography
Private Raymond Fisher was the son of Samuel Joseph and Elizabeth Annie Fisher. He attended Borough Road College for two years before going straight into active service. On the annual reports he is the first (casualty) to be marked as “serving with H.M. Forces”. In September 1914 he enlisted into 5th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, and joined the machine gun section. He was killed on 19 June 1915, aged 22.
