Biography

Second Lieutenant Bertram Reginald Baker attended Borough Road College for two years, where he competed in football and cricket, as well as being a prefect. He is listed as being destined for a school in Newington. Baker enlisted into the Royal Fusiliers in September 1914 and rose to Sergeant. He was commissioned into the 17th Battalion on 25 August 1915 and landed in France on 16 November 1915. He was 25 when he was killed on the 3 May 1916.
