Biography
Private Sidney Cortern Cowherd was the son of John and Elizabeth Janet Cowherd. He attended Borough Road College, though nothing is known of his time at the college, or if he finished his studies. Cowherd fought with the 1st Battalion London Regiment, and in the Borough Road College ROH is listed as “killed whilst doing rescue work”. His date of death is listed as 5 October 1916, he was 20 years old.
