Biography
Pilot Officer William Arthur Fullerton graduated from Shoreditch College in 1938. He died in service with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve on 30 May 1942, at the age of 25. PO Fullerton and his crew four were flying with a bombing raid of 868 planes to bomb Cologne. The Wellington IC took off from Wellsbourne, Mountford Warwickshire at 22:44 hours on the 30th of May and were hit by enemy fire over the Netherlands. A total of 41 aircraft were lost in the same bombing raid. He left behind a wife Cora Eileen Fullerton. His grave marker at Bergon-Op-Zoom War Cemetery reads, “At the going down, of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them”
