The Library will be closed from 19:00 on Monday, 22 December, and will re-open at midday on Saturday, 3 January. For full details, please see our opening hours page.

Service Availability

During the festive period, many services will be limited as our staff enjoy a well-deserved break. However, you can still place requests for materials through Click & Collect, Click & Post, and Scan & Send services, as well as interlibrary loans.

Whilst we can't guarantee you will receive your item before the break, for the best chance of doing so, please be aware of the following deadlines.

  • For click & collect and click & post requests: Place requests by Wednesday, 17 December.
  • For scan & send requests: Place requests by Tuesday, 16 December.
  • For interlibrary loan book requests: Place requests by Friday, 12 December.
  • For interlibrary loan article and chapter requests: Place requests by Thursday, 18 December.

You can continue to place requests during the break, but processing will resume on Monday, 5 January. Expect some delays as we manage the backlog.

Studying from home over winter vacation

Although the Library will be closed, our online resources, including eBooks, eJournals, databases, online learning modules and subject guides, will be available through the break. Remember to log in at the Brunel Library website.

It's important to rest and take some time away from your studies over the break. Why not check out Libby? Libby allows you to access eBooks and audiobooks, including award-winning fiction, biographies and non-fiction titles.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season!
