Brunel University London will be open and ready to teach and support students at the start of the 2020/21 academic year, with dual delivery – degree programmes being delivered online and on campus at the same time – at the heart of our approach.

We will provide high-quality and engaging teaching and learning to our new and returning students, from the UK and from overseas, through online lectures and on-campus seminars and tutorials. Online versions of these small-group sessions will also be available for those who need or choose them, ensuring that everyone has the same opportunities.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and community is our top priority, and our new approach will ensure that our students can start or continue their education as planned. Our students will be able to switch between the online and on-campus modes of delivery if personal circumstances or government restrictions change, or according to preference.

The dual-delivery approach will be available for our undergraduates in September 2020. Four degree programmes – Business & Management, Accountancy, Economics and Finance, and Computer Science – will also be available for a January 2021 start for our overseas students, who will study through to September 2021 and progress to their second year as scheduled.

For our postgraduate students, some of our programmes are available to start in both September and January, with other programmes having a September or January start, depending on the preferences of applicants. All options will benefit from our dual-delivery approach.

All of our students will join peer-support groups, drop-ins and online social events to reflect on their learning with fellow students. They will also have access to one-to-one support through online academic and pastoral support meetings with course tutors, and all our student services such as mental health and wellbeing support and careers advice.

We recognise that many of our new students will have had a longer-than-expected gap between their previous period of study and coming to Brunel. We are helping them fill this gap and prepare for study with us through our interactive GetUReady programme (for new undergraduates) and our interactive Postgrad Gateway programme.
