Sea Cadets - Instructor

Details of the Charity:

Sea Cadets is a charity providing young people aged 9-18 with activities and opportunities to gain qualifications and life skills such as resilience, self-belief, and confidence. The organisation is based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy, and young people can join activities on and off the water, such as Drill, First Aid, Meteorology, Marine Engineering, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Rowing.  

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be sharing your knowledge with young people, empowering them to explore their interests and develop their talents. As an Instructor, you will learn how to provide guidance, address challenges creatively, and be a skilled motivator.

Typical duties include:

  • Delivering instruction and training to adults and cadets of the Sea Cadets

  • Sharing skills you have in catering, archery, meteorology, navigation, orienteering, first aid, engineering, photography, marketing, football coaching, IT, social media, finance, driving, etc.

  • Attending Parade Nights a particular night each week or month

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of Children and Young People for whom you are responsible

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
