Bright Futures UK – Hospital Workshop Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

Bright Futures UK is a charity dedicated to addressing the critical gap in the education system for young people with long-term illness. The organisation provides tailored programmes to help people keep up with their studies, make social connections, and continue with life.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will support the delivery of creative and educational hospital workshops for chronically ill young people. As a Hospital Workshop Volunteer, you will develop your communication and teaching skills, meeting a variety of people and helping provide a distraction from the hospital.

Typical duties include:

  • Supporting a wide variety of activities, including crafts, gardening, VR demonstrations and more
  • Interacting with children, young people and their families
  • Following safeguarding policies when working with vulnerable people
  • Planning and leading your own workshops if you would like to

Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment on Tuesdays or Wednesdays in addition to a DBS check (fully funded).
