Ealing Anchor Foundation- Play Worker

Details of the Charity:

Ealing Anchor Foundation, formerly known as P.E.S.T.S (Parents of Ealing Self Help Training Scheme), provides information, advice, and support to parents and carers of children aged 0-5 with SEND (diagnosis not required) and living in the London Borough of Ealing.

We are part of the Ealing Advice Service funded by the borough of Ealing to provide information and advice to residents.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Ealing Anchor Foundation works towards a future in which all differently abled children and young people realise their aspirations and their right to an inclusive community which supports both them  and their families.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Children with Disabilities, between the ages of 0-5 years
  • Help and encourage children to take part in activities appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Participate with the children in activities
  • Helping to set up and clear away equipment, before, after and during the sessions
  • Talk to the parents to make sure they feel part of the group.

Hours of Volunteering Opportunity:

Tuesday: 10 am - 2:30 pm 

Friday: 10 am - 12:30 pm

Skills Required:

  • Genuine desire to work with children with disabilities
  • Interest in understanding the disabilities and special needs of the children
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to learn
  • Satisfactory references from two independent professional people who have known the volunteer for at least two years
  • Willingness to undergo an enhances DBS check.
