Carers Trust Hillingdon is a local charity operating support services for unpaid carers living or caring in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The organisation aims to improve support and recognition for people who are caring for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled, or has mental health or addiction problems.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will help to offer a safe and welcoming space to the young carers, who take on significant caring responsibilities for family members or relatives,  to socialise and take breaks from their caring duties. As a Young Carers Club Volunteer, you will develop teamwork, and enhance problem-solving and leadership skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting with making and serving refreshments at the Young Carers club
  • Ensuring the club environment is safe, inclusive, and welcoming for all young carers
  • Listening to the young carers and providing them with emotional support
  • Encouraging social interaction among young carers, fostering a sense of community 

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
