Headway West London - Activity and Group Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

Headway West London is a charity affiliated with Headway - the brain injury association, providing resources for brain injury survivors along with their families, caregivers, and relevant professionals in the West London area. The organisation runs fundraising activities as a main source of support, providing monthly daytime support groups, social events for members, and information for public awareness about brain injury.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will organise, facilitate, and support various activities and events within the charity. You will create engaging experiences, promote social interaction, and contribute to the overall welling and cohesion of the community. As an Activity and Group volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as event planning and management, communication, leadership and facilitation, teamwork, and collaboration.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting monthly with the daytime support group meetup and  with the Art workshop
  • Providing peer-to-peer support for people impacted by brain injury
  • Helping prepare the venue and welcoming members
  • Chatting with members, offering support, engaging in the discussions

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
