Details of the Charity:

The Scout Association is the largest Scouting organisation in the United Kingdom and is the World Organisation of the Scout Movement's recognised member for the United Kingdom.

The association aims to provide "fun, adventure and skills for life and give young people the opportunity to enjoy new adventures, experience outdoors and take part in a range of creative, community and international activities, interact with others, make new friends, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

This role is to support the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants and Young Leaders. Some of the tasks for which the Assistant Section Leader is responsible may be delegated to others in the Section, including other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders and Section Assistants.

Our section meeting will typically last around 2 hours, but there are also other events that take place outside these. The role will be based in a Scout Headquarters with other events elsewhere. We operate a free training scheme for all our volunteers, leading to the award of what is known as a wood badge, which means you would be fully trained.

Skills Required:

You just need lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, an affinity with your people would be an advantage.
