We want everyone who comes to Moorfields, for whatever reason, to have the best possible experience. We support and engage with kindness. This can be from helping patients find their way around the hospital, providing support during and after an operation, fundraising for specialist equipment and running the shop at the City Road site. To do this we are completely reliant on our team of around 200 volunteers.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In the role as a Patient Support Volunteer, you’ll have many duties including; leading and guiding visually impaired patients, providing emotional support and guidance, hand-holding patients during operations and meeting and greeting patients at the main reception. We also have volunteers support in our Pharmacy, Friends shop and engage in ad hoc activities that arise from various departments.
Skills Required:
- Patience, empathy and good timekeeping are essential

- We also offer free training courses led by Moorfields ranging from dementia awareness to mental health
