The Hillingdon Hospital is an acute and specialist services provider in North West London, close to Heathrow Airport. The organisation provides the majority of services from the Trust and it is the only acute hospital in Hillingdon with a busy Accident and Emergency, inpatients, day surgery, and outpatient clinics.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will welcome the patients at the hospital and ensure they receive proper reception. As a Meet-and-Greet volunteer, you will acquire customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Typical duties include:
- Meeting and greeting patients, families, visitors, and staff at the hospitals main entrance – as directed by the Reception staff/ volunteer.
- Handing out masks, hand sanitising for each patient, ensuring they are wearing masks, and giving directions
- Answering general queries about the hospital and its services
- Identifying anyone who may be lost or may need help
Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
