Hillingdon Foodbank - PR and Communications Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

Hillingdon Foodbank is a charity providing three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to families going through difficult times and crises in the Borough of Hillingdon. The organisation is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Truss all Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be involved in helping to promote the work of the food bank and encourage donations through a wide range of communications channels. As a PR and Communications Volunteer, you will acquire skills such as becoming a better public speaker, research and analysis skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Planning and advertising for public events and recruitment of volunteers
  • Developing regular foodbank newsletters for circulation to supporters
  • Developing regular prayer bulletins for local churches
  • Preparing and sending press releases for significant Kingsborough events

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
