The Hillingdon Hospital is an acute and specialist services provider in North West London, close to Heathrow Airport. The organisation provides the majority of services from the Trust and it is the only acute hospital in Hillingdon with a busy Accident and Emergency, inpatients, day surgery, and outpatient clinics.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be assisting others and providing an invaluable service to the Hillingdon Hospital team. As an Outpatients Support Volunteer, you will enhance communication skills and acquire insight into the workings of a hospital.
Typical duties include:
- Meeting and greeting patients, relatives, and visitors, providing a friendly welcome
- Offering to escort patients, families, and visitors on foot to destinations
- Maintaining stocks of leaflets and patient information and distributing them as necessary
- Asking patients to give feedback on their experience of Outpatients by completing a hand-held survey device.
Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment for 8 hours per week in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
