The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are a resident of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialize with one another.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will assist DASH clients in filling out benefit-related forms providing support to those who may find it challenging to complete paperwork independently. As a Form Filling Volunteer, you will enhance your confidence level by meeting new people, and helping your community will give you a great sense of achievement while boosting your CV.
Typical duties include:
- Helping clients complete application forms for various services and benefits
- Explaining the purpose and requirements of each form
- Meeting clients and collecting relevant information
- Providing feedback to supervisor/Manager and imputing client’s details to the computer
Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
