West Drayton Library is one of seventeen Hillingdon Borough libraries committed to the passion for reading and providing trusted information to enrich and empower the community. The organisation offers access to a range of reading materials, reference resources, databases, and articles, as well as e-learning tools such as a free digital library for members.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will offer tech support and assistance to residents in the West Drayton Area. As a Digital Helper, you will develop teaching and communication skills, build meaningful connections within the local community, and enhance your technical proficiency and troubleshooting abilities

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting residents in learning the process of attaching documents to emails and web pages, ensuring they can easily share files online 
  • Explaining the concept of password management, teaching how to create strong passwords, and safeguarding their online accounts
  • Providing guidance on organising files and folders on residents' computers
  • Creating online accounts for residents, ensuring proper setup and security measures are in place

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
