Carers Trust Hillingdon is a local charity operating support services for unpaid carers living or caring in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The organisation aims to improve support and recognition for people who are caring for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled, or has mental health or addiction problems.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will coordinate a peer support group for careers who enjoy painting or crafting and wish to get together to undertake their hobby. You will be responsible for running the groups, supporting the carers, and liaising with the staff members. As an Arts and Crafts Group Volunteer, you will learn companionship, active listening, and support and encouragement

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting with setup and clean up of the art sessions
  • Consulting with members to plan activities, sourcing the necessary materials
  • Keeping in touch with existing members in between meetings and informing them of the activities planned
  • Offering encouragement and support to participants during their creative process

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
