The Turner’s House Trust is a charity committed to preserving and promoting Sandycombe Lodge, the country retreat built by the renowned landscape painter JM.W. Turner. The organisation offers exhibitions, events, educational programs, and guided tours so people can explore and learn more about Turner`s life, artistic practice, and the historical context of the property.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will support the development of visitors' understanding and appreciation of the arts, and ensure friendly and accessible engagement with families and children of all ages. As a Volunteer Steward, you will immerse yourself in the world of art, history, and education, enriching your knowledge and perspective, as well as enhancing your communication skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Answering visitor inquiries and directing them to relevant sources of information
  • Assisting visitors with specific access requirements, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience
  • Performing front-of-house duties, including issuing tickets, distributing feedback forms, and selling items from the gift shop
  • Preparing the house for visitors and ensuring it is properly set up after their visits 

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
