Mr Derek Berchie
PhD Student

Summary

Multidisciplinary doctoral researcher synchronizing Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Sciences for the extraction, bioassay-guided fractionation and isolation of novel anti-cancer natural products. Also pioneering new low pressure cryogenic extraction method, having developed working prototype with proof of concept. 

Prior academic qualifications include BSc in Biochemistry (Brunel University, Biomedical Sciences-School of Health Sciences and Social Care), and MSc in Biomechanics, Bioelectronics and Biomedical Engineering (Brunel University, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering). Currently pursuing PhD in Chemical Engineering (Brunel University, College of Engineering Design and Physical Sciences).
