Summary
George Batsakis, PhD, is a Reader in International Business. His research focuses on international business strategy, internationalization processes, foreign market entry and exit strategies, and the role of innovation and digitalization in firm internationalization and performance. His teaching spans international business, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
His research has been published in leading international business and management journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, British Journal of Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Retailing, and Long Range Planning, among others. To date, he has published 14 articles in AJG 4*/4-rated journals. His work has been featured by the Financial Times, and he has been invited to speak at events organized by The Economist. In 2022, he was recognized as one of the Poets&Quants Best 40 Under 40 Business School Professors worldwide.
George has held a number of academic leadership roles and currently serves as a CI in the Horizon Europe project JUST-CIRCLE, leading research on sustainable and circular business models. He also serves as a track chair, reviewer, and Editorial Board Member for leading international conferences and academic journals in international business and strategic management.
