Summary
Jiahui Kang started her PhD in October 2025 and is a student in Management Studies Research at Brunel Business School (BBS), jointly funded by Brunel University London and the China Scholarship Council (CSC). She is working under the supervision of Professor Afshin Mansouri (Principal Supervisor), with additional guidance from Dr. Zhen Chen (Second Supervisor) and Dr. Elham Shafiei Gol (Research Development Adviser). She received her MSc in Global Supply Chain Management (with Distinction) from Brunel University London and her BSc in Logistics Management (with First Class Honours) from Shenyang Institute of Engineering, China.
Her doctoral research focuses on seller behaviour, competitive strategies, and sustainability in e-commerce logistics platforms. Using behavioural experiments such as oTree, she investigates how platform policies and competitive dynamics influence sellers’ delivery decisions, and how sustainable initiatives can encourage greener logistics practices, particularly within China’s major platforms such as Taobao and JD.com.
Her research aims to contribute to both academic theory and practical solutions by advancing understanding of seller decision-making in competitive digital platforms, and by identifying policy mechanisms that can align business competitiveness with environmental sustainability.
