Numerical methods for partial differential equations, particularly in the context of solid mechanics. Finite element methods for problems of linear elasticity, elastoplasticity and viscoelasticity; gradient recovery and superconvergence. Goal oriented techniques for finite element methods for quasi-static and dynamic problems of elasticity. Treatment of fracture problems, particularly in glass panels.  Modelling of thermoforming problems for thin polymeric sheets.
