Summary

Dr Kaiwen Jiang joined Brunel University of London as a lecturer (Education) in Mechanical Engineering in September 2024. Her higher education (HE) research interests include applying generative AI to HE learning and teaching, and analysing teaching practices in transnational education (TNE).

Dr Jiang specialises in remanufacturing engineering (robotics disassembly), intelligent optimisation (metaheuristic algorithms and the Bees Algorithm), and CAD simulation. She also serves on committees for the International Workshop Series on the Bees Algorithm and Its Applications (BAA), the International Workshop on Autonomous Remanufacturing (IWAR), and the British Standards Institution (BSI) committee group for remanufacturing and other product value-retention processes (BSI TPR/2). 

Qualifications

Dr Kaiwen Jiang received her BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Design, Manufacture and Automation from the North China University of Technology, China, in 2017; her MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 2018; and her PhD in Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 2024.
