Summary
Dr Jiang joined Brunel University of London as a lecturer (Education) in Mechanical Engineering in September 2024. Her higher education (HE) research interests include applying generative AI to HE learning and teaching, analysing teaching practices in transnational education (TNE), and online/digital learning pedagogies.
Dr Jiang specialises in remanufacturing engineering (robotic disassembly area), intelligent optimisation (metaheuristic algorithms and the Bees Algorithm), and CAD simulation. She also serves on committees for the International Workshop Series on the Bees Algorithm and Its Applications (BAA), the International Workshop on Autonomous Remanufacturing (IWAR), and the British Standards Institution (BSI) committee group for remanufacturing and other product value-retention processes (BSI TPR/2).
Qualifications
Dr Kaiwen Jiang received her BEng degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacture and Automation from the North China University of Technology, China, in 2017, her MSc degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering and her PhD degree in Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 2018 and 2024.
