Mr Stefan Daniel Paul Dalton
PhD Student
Summary
I am a Doctoral Researcher in the Centre for Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience and a trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I have just completed my PhD which investigated the behavioural and neuroimaging aspects of implicit emotion regulation and cognitive behavioural therapy. Here, I conducted meta-analyses, designed experiments that tested novel models of CBT therapy, and conducted complex statistical analyses. I have won several academic awards and I was a finalist in the global 3 Minute Thesis competition (3MT) for my PhD research. Furthermore, these translational findings have been published in high-impact journals including Nature’s Scientific Reports and the Journal of Affective Disorders. Beyond this, my research interests reside in clinical neuroscience, cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive neuroscience, implicit emotion regulation, and consciousness.
Prior to pursuing a PhD at Brunel University of London, I worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I specialise in working with depressive disorders and anxiety disorders including disorders such as depression, panic disorder, and social anxiety. I actively complete CPD in these areas. Furthermore, I am an elected Fellow of the ACCPH with registered supervisor status.
My teaching activities at the university encompasses several key areas including research methods, advanced statistics, neuroscience, and social psychology.
My PhD supervisory team: Dr Survjit Cheeta, Dr Ben Jennings, Dr Adrian Williams.
