Dr Zohreh Kaheh
Lecturer (Education) - Mathematics/Statistics
Summary
Dr Zohreh Kaheh is a Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at the Brunel University London–NCUT Joint School. Her research lies at the intersection of applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, and data science, with particular interests in computational and numerical modelling, mathematical optimisation, Bayesian methods, and AI/ML-enabled data-driven approaches.
Her research focuses on developing quantitative and computational methods for modelling, prediction, optimisation, and decision-making in complex systems. Her current interests include machine learning, Bayesian computation, spatio-temporal modelling, forecasting, graph and network-based methods, and uncertainty quantification, with applications in sustainable energy and power systems, manufacturing and supply chains, environmental risk, business analytics, and ecological modelling.
Dr Kaheh supervises undergraduate research projects that apply mathematical, statistical, and machine-learning methods to interdisciplinary problems. Recent projects have explored electricity demand forecasting, graph-based modelling of supply-chain disruption, spatio-temporal analysis of wildfire risk to power systems, spatial modelling of animal populations, and multimodal and graph-augmented sentiment analysis.
Dr Kaheh teaches and leads undergraduate modules in Advanced Calculus 1, Elements of Applied Mathematics 1, and Discrete Mathematics & Operations Research. She has international teaching experience across Asia and Europe and contributes to curriculum development, module leadership, and research-informed teaching and supervision.
