Centre Directors

The centre is led by Dr Daniel Bailey and Dr Pascale Kippelen, two internationally-recognised scholars with a strong track record in physical activity, exercise and sedentary behaviour research in the context of improving health. Their work has had impact on national and international guidelines e.g. World Health Organization 2020 guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour (Dr Bailey), International Olympic Committee 2008 consensus statement on asthma in elite sport (Dr Kippelen). They have informed clinical and community care practice to optimise the prevention and management of illness and disease, in particular, cardiac rehabilitation and occupational health (Dr Bailey) and exercise-induced asthma/bronchoconstriction (Dr Kippelen).
