Medical Informatics concerns the intersection of computer science, statistics and healthcare by using a wide array of tools including optimisation methods, statistical information processing, data science and artificial intelligence. Research aims to tackle the multitude of problems associated within the field of medicine ranging from diagnosis and prediction of disease progression from clinical and omics data, to the identification of sub-categories of disease to develop more personalised interventions and care plans.
