Understanding Wellbeing in the UK

In September 2018 Brunel University hosted the first UK Conference on Understanding Wellbeing in the UK. The conference showcased work conducted in the What Works Centre for Wellbeing which, since 2015, has become established as an independent collaborative organisation synthesising evidence and providing authoritative and credible national guidance to improve wellbeing and address wellbeing inequalities in the UK. Leading scholars who have driven the generation and use of evidence, and the evaluation of wellbeing in four defined policy areas: communities, culture and sport, work and learning and wellbeing methodology presented their work.
