Terms & Conditions

  1. To be eligible for the award, you must be a PhD student full or part time enrolled and the conference dates must fall within your Maximum Period of Registration.

  2. Standard maximum funding is £500. Where a student is making an oral presentation at an international leading conference and demonstrates excellence across all criteria, funding up to a maximum of £750 will be available.

  3. Each Research Student is limited to a maximum award of one Travel Prize per academic year and a maximum of two Travel Prizes for their period of registration at Brunel.

  4. Students are expected to seek ‘early bird’ registrations where possible, second class travel and a maximum accommodation cost claim per night.

  5. All successful researchers in receipt of a Travel Prize must submit a photograph and brief report following the attendance of their conference. Selected reports will be displayed on the Graduate School web and may be used for publicity and other promotional materials.

  6. Supervisors statements of support must be received by the application closing date. It is therefore advisable to submit your application as early as possible and to avoid submission on, or very close to the deadline.

  7. Prizes cannot be backdated - all conferences must be scheduled to take place after the deadline date applied for.
