Film Studies and Film Production Facilities

Our London campus boasts industry-standard facilities that mirror what you’ll be using if you want to pursue a career in the audio visual industries.

The centre of our Film and Television community is the Media Teaching Centre (MTC), situated on the top floor of Brunel's Lecture Centre.

We have 12 industry-grade editing suites with remote desktop and in-person technical support, so help is never far away when you’re knee-deep in your latest audiovisual project! Just around the corner from the MTC is our studio space - where most of your production modules will be held - as well as our screening space.

Our editing suites give you full access to Adobe Creative Cloud. The suites have had specialist sound treatment and therefore can accommodate other digital media activities such as audio editing and podcasting. Additional editing suites on site – which include a Music Production suite – give you access to Logic, ProTools, AVID and Final Cut Pro X. It’s here in our editing suites where you’ll really hone your craft and practice industry standard techniques and workflows.

We invest in some of the latest filmmaking equipment and have recently acquired a Netflix-approved 12K camera. You will also have access to our Green Screen Studio. We want you to grow confident in your ability to operate different pieces of kit throughout your time with us, as this is likely what you will encounter out in the field. Our in-person training on the equipment is embedded into the degree and some of your classes will be held at the Media Teaching Centre. But you will also have access to a library of training videos in case you need a quick refresher.

Checking out equipment for your course-related projects or your own creative ones is straightforward, and we encourage students to make the most of what’s on offer here. The bridge between what’s in your mind and what ends up on the screen is skill. And for that you will need lots of practice!
