Study Abroad at Brunel

Single London campus

Home to over 13,000 students from 144 countries, Brunel welcomes students each year who take part in our Study Abroad programme. By studying here, you’ll become part of a lively, vibrant and strikingly international community where you’ll meet people from all over the world.

We’re based on a single, suburban campus in West London, so you’ll live and study in one place. Our campus is beautifully maintained, set within leafy surroundings and our excellent facilities give our students a safe and welcoming setting to study and thrive in.

Learn with our leading academics

We’re 6th in the UK for research intensity, which means we attract and retain leading academics who produce world-renowned research. This creates real-life situations, promotes innovative solutions and delivers inspiration daily. Whichever course you choose to study, you’ll be taught by academics who are experts in their field and passionate about what they teach. Your tutors and lecturers will be the subject’s leading thinkers which is an inspiring learning environment to be in.

Innovative modes of teaching and learning

University teaching and learning at Brunel is different. As part of your Study Abroad programme, you'll experience multidisciplinary, project-based-learning fit for real-world application and aimed to create a dynamic and effective classroom environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students.

As a Study Abroad student, you'll have the chance to participate in one of our thrilling industry challenges as part of our Design Factory Module! This module will develop your collaboration, creativity and problem-solving skills as you pitch your business ideas to stakeholders within multinational corporations and attend on-site events. In previous years, students have worked with Chelsea Football Club, Enterprise and McDonald’s.

Many of our Arts & Humanities courses offer guest lectures and masterclasses featuring acclaimed writers, game designers, film directors and other industry professionals. The department focus on cultivating a vibrant artistic community, encouraging students to connect, collaborate and inspire one another through shared creative experiences. We offer a range of additional classes - from pottery and visual arts to instrumental lessons- alongside musical theatre productions.

Study Abroad students can also get involved with Studio Brunel, our very own student-led production company that stags plays and produces films. This initiative exemplifies high-level, self-directed student work and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration. Providing students with a unique opportunity to be immersed in the production of the Hillingdon Herald (the only entirely student-produced local newspaper in the UK) alongside current Brunel students.

Our Department for Social & Political Sciences programmes include visits to Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and community organisations working on climate change related issues. Helping students to build an understanding on how academic skills can be transferred to working environments within these organisations.
