U.S. Student Loans and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress to enable students in receipt of U.S. Student Loans to maintain their loan eligibility following teaching moving to online learning during the current Coronavirus global pandemic (as declared by the US Government). The legislation means students who would normally be studying full time and on campus but are now receiving their tuition via online teaching, are entitled to receive their full U.S. Student Loan entitlement. There is currently not a restriction on where remote studies are undertaken. The Federal Student Aid website has information for students and parents.
Brunel University London is eligible to certify loan applications for the Direct Loan Program (a US federal loan scheme, available to US citizens only).
US Federal Loans for both Undergraduate and Graduate students are administered centrally by the University Funding Team. The information in this section is relevant to prospective and current Graduate and Undergraduate students.
Please read through the information sections on the right-hand side of this page before starting the application process. You may find that the process is very different to previous applications made at US universities.
