International students

Guaranteed accommodation for International and EU fee status students 

We are pleased to advise that international and EU fee status students are guaranteed campus accommodation for the duration of their studies (subject to application terms and conditions). Students must still apply for a room by the stated deadlines of Saturday 31 August 2024 for new students and Friday 8 March 2024 for returning students (subject to the usual contract start and end dates). Please note that all students must be clear of outstanding accommodation related fees and not have a University or Residential Ban to be eligible for accommodation.

Information for International students

We have over 4,000 modern, comfortable and safe rooms with a range of accommodation options on campus. 

New students who have applied for accommodation, met the conditions of their course offer and confirmed their place at Brunel University London, by Saturday 31 August 2024 will be offered a room on campus. If you apply for accommodation from Sunday 1 September 2024, it may take longer for us to find you a room on campus. But you are welcome to add your name to the waiting list for a campus room.

All of our halls of residence are less than a 10 minute’s walk from our teaching, social and sporting facilities.   

You will have your own bedroom with free Wi-Fi, a shared communal kitchen and laundry facilities. Nearly all of our campus rooms offer en suite facilities.

Our halls of residence have an electronic door entry system and CCTV, and for peace of mind we have a 24-hour security team on site too. 

The Student Living team can help international students find the most comfortable accommodation during their degrees and associated specialist courses such as the Pre-Sessional Course. There are three different kinds of room available:

  • En suite - students have private bath/shower room facilities
  • Standard - students share bath/shower room facilities
  • Studios/ Flats suitable for co-habiting couples - students have their own kitchen and shower room facilities

All of our rooms are self-catering.

Applying for campus accommodation

Please submit an application form online once you have read the relevant section below for details about your options and eligibility.

As an Exchange/Erasmus student you are eligible to apply for accommodation on campus for periods of no less than one term. The following periods are available to book online:

Contract 1: Sunday 22 September 2024 – 9:30am on Monday 13 January 2025
Contract 2: Sunday 22 September 2024 – 9:30am on Monday 16 June 2025
Contract 3: Sunday 22 September 2024 – 9:30am on Monday 15 September 2025
Contract 4: From January 2025 onwards – 9:30am on Monday 16 June 2025
Contract 5: From January 2025 onwards – 9:30am on Monday 15 September 2025

If you would like to apply for accommodation for contract periods 1 to 5 and you have already been issued with your Brunel ID number, you can complete our online application form. Once you have completed this you will be contacted by email with further details of when to expect your Licence Agreement and when to pay your £350 (single room) accommodation deposit £450 (studio). If you have not yet been issued with a Brunel ID number, please contact Brunel International by email. As a Pre-sessional student you are eligible to apply for campus accommodation using our online application form, as long as you are attending one of the 12 to 4 week courses that run over the Summer Vacation period.

Pre-sessional students attending Course 1 (20 week course) and Course 2 (16 week course) can apply for campus accommodation but will only be offered accommodation subject to availability.

Students on the Pre-sessional English for Brunel Pathway College course can apply for campus accommodation providing you hold a conditional offer with Brunel Pathway College for a course directly after your Pre-sessional course. You can apply for campus accommodation using our online application form.

What do I do next?

For all of the above courses you must return your application to the Brunel Language Centre and also pay your course deposit.  Once you have applied for accommodation you will be contacted by the Allocations Team 7 days prior to your arrival with further details.

Do I also need to apply for accommodation for my main course of study?

You will be required to submit an online application for your main course of study as well as your pre-sessional course. To secure a room for main course you would also need to pay a £350 deposit (single rooms), £450 (studio flats). Further details will be provided to you in August.

You will be eligible to apply for campus accommodation provided that you are attending an English@Brunel course that finishes in May, September or December.

Students starting English@Brunel course in August

To apply for campus accommodation please complete an online application form.

For this course you must return your course application to the Brunel Language Centre and pay your course deposit and one weeks rent as accommodation deposit when applying for your room online before you will be offered campus accommodation. Once you have applied for accommodation and made your payment you will be contacted by the Allocations Team 7 days before your arrival with further details.

Do I also need to apply for accommodation from September?

You will be required to submit an application for your studies from September as well as the summer part of your course. To secure a room from September you would need to pay a £350 deposit (single rooms), £450 (studio flats). Further details will be provided to you in August.

Students starting English@Brunel course in September

To apply for campus accommodation please complete an online application form.

For this course you must return your course application to the Brunel Language Centre and pay your course deposit.  You will require to pay £350 accommodation deposit (single rooms), £450 (studio flats) deposit once you will be offered campus accommodation.

Please ensure that you hold an Unconditional Firm offer with the University by Saturday 31 August 2024 to ensure that you are offered campus accommodation. Once you have applied for accommodation you will be contacted by the Student Living team within two working days to confirm your accommodation preference, the cost of your stay, your booking dates and further details of when to expect your Licence Agreement.

Students starting English@Brunel course in October/January or February

For these courses you will be offered campus accommodation subject to availability. All contracts will run until 9.30am on either June or September depending on the type of room available and the length of course you are studying. To apply for campus accommodation please complete an online application form

For these courses you must return your course application to the Brunel Language Centre and pay your course deposit. You will require to pay £350 (single rooms), £450 (studio flats) accommodation deposit once you will be offered campus accommodation. 

Any offers of accommodation during term time may also require payment of a proportion of the rent in advance. Details of the amounts would be given at the time of the room offer. Once you have applied for accommodation you will be contacted by the Student Living team 7 days prior to your arrival with further details.

Students on the Pre-sessional English for Brunel Pathway College course can apply for campus accommodation providing you hold a conditional offer with Brunel Pathway College for a course directly after your Pre-sessional course. You can apply for campus accommodation using our online application form.

If you're a current Brunel Pathway College student and would like to stay for the Summer Vacation you'll also need to apply online (summer application forms are available from April in each session)

September intake

New students joining Brunel Pathway College for the September intake are guaranteed campus accommodation offer for the first year of their course if they apply for a room, met the conditions of their course offer and paid tuition fee deposit to Brunel Pathway College by the deadline of Saturday 31 August 2024  and are subject to the usual contract end dates. Please check your eligibility for 2023/24 campus accommodation.

January, March and May/June intake

Students joining Brunel Pathway College during term time are not required to pay the accommodation fees in advance of a room offer. Room offers are subject to availability for those joining the January and March intake. Students arriving for the May and June intakes are guarenteed campus accommodation (subject to the usual University Student Living Terms and Conditions e.g. no criminal convictions, no outstanding accommodation related charges etc).

To apply for a room you will need to:

    • Have been issued with a 7 digit Brunel ID number
    • Submit an accommodation application online
    • Ensure you have supplied the Student Living team with your arrival date/time and have confirmed that you have your visa

Once the above is completed and you hold an Unconditional Firm offer on the Brunel University London system the Student Living team will contact you with a room offer by phone or email. To secure a room you will be asked to pay the £350 (single rooms), £450 (studio flats) accommodation deposit and a proportion of the rent in advance, depending on the time of year.

January, March and May/June returning students - Students who joined Brunel Pathway College for the first time in January, March and May 2023 are able to apply for accommodation for the following session beginning in September. Students who wish to apply for accommodation when they return in September will need to apply online by 31 July 2022. Students who meet the University Student Living Terms and Conditions, such as having no outstanding money to the University and holding a valid course offer for the full academic session, will receive their room offer by the end of August.

July intake

Students joining Brunel Pathway College during the summer period are not required to pay the accommodation deposit in advance of a room offer.

To apply for a room you will need to:

  • Have been issued with a 7 digit Brunel ID number
  • Submit an accommodation application online
  • Ensure you have supplied Allocations team with your arrival date/time and confirmed you have your visa

Once the above is completed and you hold an Unconditional Firm offer on the Brunel University system your details will be added to the waiting list for campus accommodation and a member of staff will be in contact with you. To secure a room when an offer is made you will be asked to pay a weeks rent in advance.

July returning students - Students who joined Brunel Pathway College for the first time in July are able to apply for accommodation for the following session beginning in September 2023. Students who wish to apply for accommodation when they return in September will need to apply online by 31 July 2023. Students who meet the University Student Living Allocation Terms and Conditions, such as having no outstanding money to the University and holding a valid course offer for the full academic session, will receive their room offer by the end of August.

Level 2/Returning students

Students who are entering level 2 with Brunel or have already studied for one year with either Brunel and/or Brunel Pathway College are able to apply for accommodation for the following session but are not guaranteed a room unless they are an International fee paying student (see top of this page). Applications for next session are available from December of each session and are submitted online by a set deadline date which is usually in January.

All other new international students are able to make a preference for accommodation using our online form. This allows you to provide information on what type of room you would like, your email address, mobile number and any other information that may assist us with your allocation.
