We pride ourselves on a combination of high achievement and high participation levels. Through Team Brunel, all our sports clubs are open to all students, regardless of ability or experience. We offer over 50 sports clubs and activities that include American football, cheerleading, rock climbing and snow boarding alongside football, rugby, wheel chair basketball, hockey, athletics, netball and more. Clubs vary in the levels of commitment from weekly fixtures to occasional competitions and solely recreational.
The Team Brunel brand was introduced in 2016 and is run by the Union of Brunel Students. The Team Brunel logo was designed to represent both the heritage and success of Brunel via a distinct, modern image illustrating unity and forward thinking.
The Union has a fantastic record of achievement in sport on both a competitive and non-competitive level. Team Brunel has been ranked as high as 18th in the BUCS rankings and is a regular top 40 institution, in a league table of over 140. Some recent notable Team Brunel successes include our Netball Club winning the BUCS Premier South title, and reaching the BUCS Big Wednesday Championship Final vs Northumbria, and our Athletics Club coming 2nd in the BUCS Indoor Athletics Championships, 0.5 points behind Loughborough.
Our Futsal team have won the BUCS Premier League for 3 of the last 4 seasons, and for the last two years have been the GB representative at the European University Sport Association Football Championships, competing against the best university sides in Europe. Our basketball team are the most consistent university side at the top level (premier south) and repeatedly attend the national Final 8’s competition.
As you can see, we have a broad array of sporting opportunity on offer at Brunel University London. Whether your motivation to take part in sport and recreation is based on performance, being social or your own health and wellbeing, we look forward to welcoming you into our facilities and supporting you to achieve those ambitions.
