Longaretti, Spiers and Smith join Trailfinders Rugby Academy

Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce the next three members of the Trailfinders Rugby Academy with Brunel University London.

Jarno Longaretti Brunel University and Ealing Trailfinders rugby scholarJarno Longaretti, a loosehead prop joins with an impressive CV. After attending St Joseph’s College he joined the Northampton Saints Academy, and trained with Italy Under 18s after showing his quality.

Tommy Spiers is another exciting arrival to the back-row. He went to Truro College and played for Truro RFC before joining Exeter Chiefs Academy, whilst also representing England Counties at Under 18 level.

Alex Smith is a loosehead prop who went to Millfield School, and also played for his home town club Plymouth Albion. He has represented Devon, as well as Lambs RFC.

Trailfinders Rugby Academy Head Coach Glen Townson is pleased to welcome three more future stars to the programme.

“Jarno is in great physical shape and has already shown his potential. We feel that his development will be hugely significant under the guidance of Steve Neville in particular for his scrummaging, and he is someone we have high hopes for.

Tommy is a very powerful back-rower who is an exciting addition to the programme. His ball carrying and also defensive work will stand him in good stead, and give him the platform to improve dramatically.

Alex is another player who has arrived in impressive physical condition, and with lots of rugby under his belt he will soon use his understanding of the game to advance very quickly.”
