Olujare Oguntibeju joins Trailfinders Rugby Academy

The Trailfinders Rugby Academy are excited to announce the arrival of Olujare Oguntibeju to the Scholarship Programme with Brunel University London.

Ealing Trailfinders rugby scholar Olujare OguntibejuThe 6ft 8” second-rower is another South African with a huge future ahead of him and was brought to the attention of the coaches after a trial with Pro 14 side Edinburgh. He joins the likes of Zach Toerien, Lefty Zigiriadis and Brandon Jewell who have all made the journey from South Africa to West London this summer for a spell in the academy. The 18-year-old, who has more of a background playing basketball attended Meridian Pinehurst Independent High School in Cape Town, and played rugby for Curro Durbanville. He will look to compete with other members of the Academy for a place in the team such as George Whalley, Max Loboda and Teyi Adeyeye.

Oguntibeju is delighted to have the opportunity to become part of the Trailfinders Rugby Academy. “I am very excited to be involved with Ealing Trailfinders, I feel like it’s the best place for me to develop as a rugby player.”

Head of Rugby Gareth Rise is looking forward to seeing Oguntibeju develop over the next three years. “Jare has great physical attributes and is an amazing prospect. We are excited to be contributing to his development and are very pleased to have him in our academy at Brunel.”
