My research focuses on technology management in supply chain systems, with particular emphasis on AI-enabled decision making, digitally resilient and risk-aware value chains, and the transition towards net-zero and circular business models. I also explore the role of emerging technologies such as digital twins, data analytics, and platform ecosystems in enhancing coordination, transparency, and performance across complex supply networks.

I am also co-leading the Brunel's Blue Economy Lab. The lab examines the Blue Economy as a space for both sustainable economic development and environmental stewardship. This work addresses the balance between entrepreneurial growth in ocean-based industries and the protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems. It also connects to broader global challenges including inequality, responsible consumption, and pollution. Research supervision

I provide supervision and consultancy support to PhD students across a range of interdisciplinary research areas. Examples of current and completed doctoral projects under my supervision include:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Smart Port Ecosystems: A PhD project examining how different dimensions of artificial intelligence (AI) contribute to value creation in smart port ecosystems, with a particular focus on how organisations leverage AI to enhance decision-making and performance within complex, interconnected environments (Ongoing).
  • Open Innovation and SME Resilience: A PhD project examining the role of open innovation in building organisational resilience in SMEs (Ongoing).
  • Digitalisation and International Coordination: A PhD project examining how firms’ internal digital capabilities and governance choices shape their international market decisions (Completed).
  • Digital Twins and Sustainable Energy: A fully funded PhD project exploring the application of digital twin technologies for multi-objective optimization of hydrogen-integrated hybrid renewable energy systems (Completed).
  • Agroforestry and Sustainable Agriculture: A fully funded PhD project investigating the role of agroforestry practices in driving transitions towards sustainable agriculture in the UK (Ongoing).
