Topics
My research focuses on technology management in supply chain systems, with particular emphasis on AI-enabled decision making, digitally resilient and risk-aware value chains, and the transition towards net-zero and circular business models. I also explore the role of emerging technologies such as digital twins, data analytics, and platform ecosystems in enhancing coordination, transparency, and performance across complex supply networks.
I am also co-leading the Brunel's Blue Economy Lab. The lab examines the Blue Economy as a space for both sustainable economic development and environmental stewardship. This work addresses the balance between entrepreneurial growth in ocean-based industries and the protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems. It also connects to broader global challenges including inequality, responsible consumption, and pollution. If you are interested in pursuing research in any of these areas, please feel free to get in touch.
To find funding for a PhD, the FindAPhD website is a good place to start. Below are some PhD topics I am currently interested in.
PhD projects for research students
Research supervision
I provide supervision and consultancy support to PhD students across a range of interdisciplinary research areas. Below are examples of current doctoral projects under my supervision:
- PhD project Examining how different dimensions of artificial intelligence (AI) contribute to value creation in smart port ecosystems, with a particular focus on how organisations leverage AI to enhance decision-making, coordination, and performance within complex, interconnected environments (Ongoing).
- Fully funded PhD project: Investigating the pivotal role of agroforestry practices in driving transitions towards sustainable agriculture in the UK.
- Fully funded PhD project: Digital Twins and Sustainable Energy — a project exploring the application of digital twin technologies to advance sustainable energy systems (Ongoing).
