Summary
Charmi Kapadia is a Doctoral Researcher in Environmental Sciences at Brunel University of London, supported by an EPSRC IDLA studentship and supervised by Dr Eleni Iacovidou and Dr Theodoros Giakoumis. Working in collaboration with Anglian Water, her research applies the Complex Value Optimisation for Resource Recovery (CVORR) methodology to advance circular economy practices and support systems-based decision-making in the UK water sector.
She brings over seven years of professional experience across water and sanitation, water quality management, environmental and infrastructure planning, sustainability, and government consulting, including work with UNICEF, WaterAid and EY and major national programmes in India including the Jal Jeevan Mission (Water Mission), RURBAN Mission, Affordable Housing Project (PMAY). Her work has covered programme planning and implementation, water quality monitoring, infrastructure assessment, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.
More recently, her work with the Yorkshire Circular Lab at the University of Leeds has focused on circular economy and industrial symbiosis. Her interdisciplinary background spans civil engineering, urban and regional planning, environmental engineering and circular economy.
