Teaching

Dr Barrett has been providing support for lectures in the Health Promotion, and Implementing Change modules at Brunel University for the last 3 years, and has more recently also been a guest lecturer in the Health Policy, Politics and Social Justice module, as well as the Journal Club. She has delivered ad hoc workshops and student support and has been a Dissertation Supervisor at Brunel University, as well as helping students author papers. In her career in the pharmaceutical research, she trained healthcare personnel in clinical trials internationally, and, during a secondment to Save the Children, taught local staff in Nigeria on how to perform immunisation assessments. Dr Barrett has a long standing interest in education, spanning everything from science clubs for primary school children, to tutoring/mentoring refugee teenagers, to addressing vaccination questions while carrying out COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as supporting Brunel Public Health students.
