Research Interests

Building on an early professional career in military flight testing, then light and microlight aeroplane testing and certification, PhD in the development of flight test techniques. Subsequently, research has covered a breadth of safety related issues, particularly: departures from controlled flight, development of flight test techniques, analysis of significant accidents, and some aspects of aircraft operational management, mainly from the perspectives of airborne research, or safety. My small group at Brunel is Brunel Flight Safety Laboratory, and has existed since 2007.
