Summary
Dr Nura Tijjani Abubakar is an Associate Lecturer (Education) and Year 3 Module Leader in Cybersecurity in the Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Brunel University London (2021), an MSc in Software Engineering from Oxford Brookes University, and a BSc in Computing and Software Engineering with First Class Honours.
With over 20 years of experience spanning academic teaching, research, and curriculum design, Dr Abubakar leads undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across four modules, supervises student projects at Year 2, Final Year, and Masters level, and contributes to departmental leadership through module coordination, Extenuating Circumstances administration, and student admissions. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), reflecting a sustained and formally recognised commitment to high-quality teaching and learning in higher education.
Beyond Brunel, he serves as External Examiner to the Department of Computer Science at the University of East London, and has been engaged by the University of London as Resource Person to design the Programming for AI module for their BSc in Artificial Intelligence — externally recognised contributions that enhance Brunel's reputation for education quality.
