Student SupervisionDr Abubakar supervises students across three levels of study, supporting the development of independent research and professional skills:

Teaching QualificationFellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) — awarded through the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education, recognising sustained, high-quality contribution to academic teaching practice.

External Curriculum DesignEngaged by the University of London as Resource Person for the design of the Programming for AI module, forming part of their BSc in Artificial Intelligence programme. This role involves full module design including learning outcomes, content architecture, and assessment — demonstrating educational impact at programme level beyond Brunel.

Departmental Contributions

• Member of the Extenuating Circumstances team, processing and assessing student applications (3 years)
• Member of the Admissions team, contributing to the annual Clearing exercise and representing the Department of Computer Science at Brunel Open Days
