REF2021 Impact Case Studies
- Supporting tobacco control decision making for improved health and economic productivity Subhash led the development and application of economic modelling tools that supported tobacco control investment decisions across English local authorities. The work informed NICE public health guidance and underpinned major resource allocation decisions in the NHS and local government. Read the full case study →
- Informing policies and debates on breastfeeding promotion Subhash and colleagues quantified the economic burden of low breastfeeding rates in the UK, providing the evidence base for policy advocacy and NHS guidance on breastfeeding support. NICE Tools & Advisory Roles
Subhash developed the NICE Tobacco Control ROI Tool - free, interactive model that allowed local authorities to estimate the return on investment of tobacco control and smoking cessation interventions. The tool was widely adopted across England.
