Summary

I am a PhD candidate supervised by Dr Dan Perkins, studying aquatic and riparian food webs. My research explores how different animals interact with one another to understand the forces that shape ecological communities. These interactions form intricate organic networks, their structures reavealing a great deal about how ecosystems function and how they respond to change.

A central theme of my work is how environmental threats, such as human pressures, alter the patterns of these networks. By comparing food webs across different regions and conditions, I investigate how disturbance reshapes the way energy flows through ecosystems and how communities assemble in response. Combining ecological theory with data-driven approaches, my research aims to illuminate the processes that govern the stability and resilience of freshwater and riverside ecosystems, offering insight into how these vital habitats may fare in a rapidly changin world.

I have completed my undergrad degree in Biology at QMUL (2022), proceededing to a two-year Master's at Stockholm University in Ecology and Biodiversity (2024). Before moving back to London for my PhD, I worked at the National History Museum in Luxembourg to support the formulation and implementation of species protection plans.
