Research Interests

My main interests lie in how ecological networks are structured and how animal communities and interactions are shaped by their environment. To do this, I investigate invertebrate and fish populations, since they are the backbone of stream ecosystems.

My doctoral project, funded by the TREES DLA, is supervised by Dr Dan Perkins at Brunel. A large part of my project revolves around investigating the differences between temperate and tropical streams, using the UK and Brazil as the two main regions. For this reason I have formed national (Dr Pavel Kratina, QMUL) and international (Dr Victor Saito, Federal University of São Carlos) collaborations that will provide me with support, supervision and expertise to achieve my research goals.

Other interests, which at times overlap with my research interests, are entomology and spider ecology.
